Aspen, Colorado
The soul of this house comes from its eclectic character - a layering of ideas, materials, and spaces that together create something both familiar and unexpected. It feels nestled in the mountains like a cottage, yet carries a richness that speaks to ancestry, family, and the long tradition of alpine living.
Stone, timber, and glass each bring their own weight and presence, combined in ways that feel intentional without becoming uniform. The great room, anchored by its hearth, establishes a sense of gathering and permanence, while quieter alcoves offer intimacy and pause.
This house was conceived as an immersive environment. Cozy yet expansive, eclectic yet grounded, it embraces contrast as a design principle - creating spaces that welcome life, memory, and imagination, all in constant relationship with the surrounding mountain landscape.
